Friends Membership
There has never been a more important time to become a Friend of the Santa Barbara Public Library, or to increase your involvement if you are already a member. Nationwide, the demand for library services, open access to books and computers, educational opportunities that support lifelong learning, public meeting rooms, and galleries for local artists, is continuing to rise. From toddlers to teens, new immigrants to entrepreneurs, people are flocking to their libraries.
The Friends is the non-profit support group of the library dedicated to the growth and development of the Library ensuring free access to information and resources to all members of the community. We raise funds for materials, programs and services that would otherwise not be provided. It is also through the Friends of the Library that the library is able to apply and receive grants from various foundations.
The Friends believe that a good library is essential to the intellectual and cultural growth and general well being of the community. As a Friend, your will help provide additional funds for direct financial and program support.
Membership begins at just $35, although we hope you will consider a larger contribution.

Reserve List – $1000 and up
Conservator – $400 to $999
Book Collector – $100 to $399
Bibliophile – $100 to $249
Book Lover – $50 to $99
Book Worm – $35 to $49
Business Member Benefits
Your business can support the Santa Barbara Public Library by joining Business Friends, at one of the following yearly levels and associated benefits. You will also receive all of the same benefits of an individual friends membership, including invitations to special members-only events and advanced registration for programs.
Publisher – $1,000 and up

- Acknowledgement of your support in our newsletter with name/logo
- Acknowledgement of your contribution at our Annual Meeting
Editor – $500 to $999
